You don't always need a big, flashy show of passion to get the point of attraction across. Sometimes, what's implicit can be just as tempting as what's explicit - sometimes, it can be even more so, because what's left to the imagination can be incredibly alluring. Just take a look at the tension rolling off couples in fictional works from the middle ages all the way up to Regency and Victorian eras; even up until the 1960s, showing lovers in bed was rarely done on television, and in certain Asian countries, fictional couples may show affection in a much more subdued way, confusing some western audiences. Still, from these sources, we get some of our most long-standing, most enduring romances, who never did much aside from touch "on screen." Some didn't even kiss, yet the desire between them sizzles.

So take a page from the books of old (and new) and leave a little unsaid. It's all about the implied, the fleeting touches, the stolen looks. Are the characters in the thread even together, properly? If not, you'll be wanting them to be by the end.
