Though it's usually more of a trope than a reality, oftentimes characters have a set "role" in the bedroom (often seen prevalently in yaoi manga re seme and uke). This meme plays off of the idea of switching up the usual setup and giving you a chance to play your character in a role that they would not generally be in in a smut thread.

Whether or not your character canonically has a "role" in bed doesn't matter. This meme is for fun and for exploring playing out smut with a character in a situation they're not exactly used to and/or you're not used to playing them in.

Please note that this isn't strictly just for the guys switching who tops- a lady who is normally extremely dominant in bed can give her partner the chance to control the show, etc.

Throw character name/canon/preferences in the header, and feel free to specify somewhere what role is your character's standard, if applicable.

Scenarios

EXPERIMENTING You've gotten so used to the old routine that it's time for something new. Maybe it will spice things up in your sex life?
NECESSITY Whether it's because one of you has an injury, because of somebody's anatomy not being compatible in the way you usually do things, you're going to have to do things differently to make this work!
TRUST You're usually too uptight to want to do things a new way, but for whatever reason (be it love, friendship, or just some kind of bizarre cosmic connection), you trust this person enough to give it a shot.
DRUNK You're uninhibited and crazy, and you want to live a little!
DUBCON You're not 100% comfortable with this change of pace, but it's happening anyway.
LOVE You love this person so much that you want to try everything with them.
WILDCARD Mix and match or choose your own!

STRANGERS You don't know each other, but you want this anyway.
LOVERS This is the person you're with, so it shouldn't matter, right?
FRIENDS There's nothing wrong with friends with benefits
