  1. [ PHONE ]: during a phone call with (B), (A) absently tells them “i love you” for the first time before hanging up.

  2. [ MOUTH ]: while standing across a crowded room from one another, (A) catches (B)’s eye and mouths “i love you” to them.

  3. [ HEAT ]: while engaged in a passionate argument with one another, (A), in the heat of the moment, blurts out “i love you!” to (B). ( think of like, that glorious trope where people have a huge argument and then suddenly somebody drops the mic with “because i’m in love with you!” and silences the other person. you know the trope! )

  4. [ SLOW ]: after resisting their feelings for one another for a very long time, (A) finally breaks down and reveals to (B) that they love them.

  5. [ SAVED ]: having believed they were both about to die, (A) says “i love you” to (B), only for both of them to be spared at the last minute and left to process the not-so-final last words of (A).

  6. [ OVERHEARD ]: (A) reveals that they’re in love with (B) to a third party, not realizing that (B), while out of sight, has just overheard the confession.

  7. [ CHOOSE ]: (A), realizing (B) is about to make a huge life-changing decision (literally anything, accepting a job offer, accepting a marriage proposal, leaving the country, ANYTHING!) tells (B) that they’re in love with them, leaving them to choose between (A) and their original path.

  8. [ DECISION ]: (A) finds (B) just as they’re about to make a massive decision that will have massive consequences for the fate of many people, possibly the world. accepting their fate, (A) allows (B) to continue, telling them that they love them, and then waiting to see whether (B) choose to save the world, or destroy it.

  9. [ LAST ]: believing it to be their last chance to confess their feelings for (B), (A) tells them that they love them.

  10. [ ASK ]: immediately after saying “i love you” to (B) for the first time, (A) proceeds to propose to them.

  11. [ BEDSIDE ]: while sitting by the sick/injured/unconscious (B)’s bedside, (A) reveals that they’re in love with them, unaware that (B) can hear this revelation.

  12. [ TEXT ]: before concluding a text conversation, (A) delivers one more text to (B), reading “i love you”, before ending the conversation.

  13. [ SACRIFICE ]: just before putting their own life in danger to protect, save, or help (B), (A) tells them that they love them, and then proceeds to risk their life in an intentional self-sacrificing way.

  14. [ BATTLE ]: as they prepare to go on a dangerous mission, (A) shares a final moment with (B), and tells them they love them, just as they head out to fight.

  15. [ LETTER ]: (A) delivers a letter to (B) that reveals their deep love for (B).

  16. [ PRIVATE ]: (A) confesses their love for (B) by using a private joke or shared story that only the two of them know. ( example: “remember the day we went fishing on the lake and you fell into the water because you thought that leaf was a shark fin? that was the day i knew i loved you.” )

  17. [ UNSPOKEN ]: after a third party (or (B) themselves) asks if (A) is in love with (B), (A) goes silent, unwittingly admitting that they do love them in the process.

  18. [ KISS ]: unable to find the right words to express how much they love (B), (A) impulsively catches them and pulls them in for a passionate, deep kiss.

  19. [ RAIN ]: (A) reveals their love for (B) while they’re both standing outside in the pouring rain.

  20. [ HUSH ]: (A) whispers “i love you” to (B) while they’re both in a situation or context where they need to be quiet.

  21. [ UNCERTAIN ]: while pretending/acting/undercover, (A) says “i love you” to (B), but whether they meant it or not is left unknown.

  22. [ DANCING ]: as they slow-dance together, (A) takes the opportunity to lean in close to (B) and tell them that they love them.

  28. [ INCOHERENT ]: while sick/feverish/intoxicated/otherwise incoherent, (A) tells (B) that they love them, leaving (B) to figure out if they meant it or not.

  29. [ TRUST ]: faced with an incredibly risky situation, (A) decides to accept whatever plan (B) decides on, trusting them with both of their lives and telling them they love them in the process.
